Overview
In this role you lead EPMS/PMS design and implementation for data centres, collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to deliver reliable, energy-efficient controls. You will engage clients and stakeholders, manage projects through feasibility, design, tender, and delivery, and mentor the EPMS/PMS team while advancing smart building technologies. Your work supports the client’s sustainability goals and regulatory compliance across complex data-centre projects. This role combines hands-on design with leadership and business development in a global firm.

Responsibilities
- Lead design and oversee EPMS/PMS implementation across architectures to meet client and regulatory needs
- Engage with clients, architects, M&E teams, contractors, and senior management to build relationships and provide expert advice
- Manage complex projects from feasibility through delivery, including specifications, tender management, cost analysis, and progress reporting
- Conduct system surveys, FAT/SAT testing, and produce reports, recommendations, and client training
- Drive business development and mentor the EPMS/PMS team while fostering knowledge sharing and innovation in smart building tech
- Promote Safety, Health & Environmental best practices and ensure regulatory compliance
- Support integration of mechanical, electrical, and control systems using open communication standards and advanced EPMS technologies
- Travel nationally to project sites and AECOM offices as needed, with hybrid working arrangements
Key requirements
- Degree in electrical engineering with building services bias preferred but not compulsory
- Member of IET or CIBSE; CEng accredited or working towards it
- Proven track record delivering EPMS and controls designs across architectures and project sizes
- Team player capable of delivering electrical designs in collaboration with other building services and disciplines
- Post-graduate experience in a building services design role focused on data centres
- Forward-thinking, client-facing, and able to liaise with clients, PMs, and contractors
- Familiar with regulations, standards, RIBA stages, and able to supervise site work and prepare feasibility reports
- Excellent communication and leadership skills to work with clients and senior stakeholders
- Full clean driving licence and passport; willing to travel regionally and internationally
- Ability to obtain security clearance for certain projects
