Senior Electrical Design Engineer

Overview

As a Senior Electrical Design Engineer, you will lead electrical building services design across diverse developments, guiding projects from concept to completion. You’ll mentor junior engineers and collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver compliant, high-quality solutions. Your work will span commercial, residential, and education sectors, influencing design decisions and technical standards. You will thrive in a client-facing, collaborative environment that values practical problem-solving and design excellence.

Responsibilities

• Lead electrical building services design on multiple projects
• Produce and review electrical calculations, specifications, reports, and drawings
• Manage design-stage progress, budgets, and timelines
• Coordinate with mechanical engineers, architects, contractors, and external consultants
• Attend client and design-team meetings as technical point of contact
• Support and mentor junior engineers
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations, standards, and best practices

Key requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or Building Services Engineering (or equivalent)
• Proven experience in a Building Services Consultancy environment
• Strong background delivering commercial, residential, and education projects
• Proficient with Amtech, Dialux/Relux, AutoCAD, and Revit
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Experience managing multiple projects and supporting junior team members
• Chartered Engineer status would be advantageous
