Business Development Manager

Overview

As a Business Development Manager in Barclays’ Mid Corporate team, you identify opportunities to grow the client base and revenue. You work with Relationship Directors to shape client strategies, structure lending solutions, and guide deals from first contact to completion. You collaborate across functions to ensure seamless delivery of banking products. This role offers high visibility with senior clients and a direct role in driving growth in a competitive market.

Responsibilities

• Conduct market research and analysis to spot growth opportunities, trends, and client needs to inform growth strategies
• Identify leads via networking, referrals, cold outreach, and industry events
• Develop and execute strategies to win new business and expand the customer base, including proposal and negotiation work
• Collaborate with relationship teams, product managers, credit analysts, and operations to ensure smooth delivery of banking products
• Forecast sales targets and report on pipeline, activities, and performance to management
• Contribute to development of business development strategies and revenue growth initiatives
• Lead or support cross-functional activities to align with business strategy and manage risk
