Overview

In this role, you will deliver mechanical design and technical documentation for high-profile water treatment projects across the UK. You join a multidisciplinary team to shape design, specification, procurement, and commissioning of mechanical systems for critical water infrastructure. You will work across the project lifecycle, supporting design reviews, supplier engagement, and handover readiness. Responsibilities

  • Develop and review mechanical designs and technical docs
  • Create and assess P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and specs
  • Support process and hydraulic design activities
  • Size, specify and select mechanical process equipment
  • Support procurement and supplier engagement for equipment
  • Coordinate with Process, Civil and EICA teams
  • Participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and workshops
  • Provide construction and commissioning support
  • Assist with inspections, testing, and handover activities
  • Identify risks and opportunities for continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in water or wastewater sector
  • Strong understanding of mechanical equipment used in treatment facilities
  • Experience producing engineering documentation and P&IDs
  • Knowledge of equipment procurement and supplier engagement
  • Experience supporting construction, installation and commissioning activities
