IT & Indirects Category Manager – Global FTSE 100

Overview

In this role you drive strategic IT and indirect procurement, leading software, hardware and professional services sourcing for a global FMCG business. You will partner with senior stakeholders, design cradle-to-grave category strategies, and mentor junior buyers to embed best-in-class procurement. You’ll negotiate with top technology vendors and influence cross-functional teams to unlock value at scale. This is a high-impact, collaborative position in a growth-focused procurement function.

Responsibilities

• Lead Strategic Sourcing for Software, Hardware and Professional Services subcategories (Licensing, Cloud, Data Centers, Servers, Storage, etc.)
• Negotiate with major technology vendors (e.g., Microsoft, HP, Dell, Oracle, IBM) to secure long-term commercial advantages
• Project-manage category strategies from cradle-to-grave procurement (RFP, RFQ)
• Engage with executive stakeholders to secure support for procurement initiatives
• Foster a high-performance culture, upskill junior team members, and model best-in-class IT procurement

Key requirements

• Strong procurement and strategic sourcing experience in established companies
• At least 2 years specialising in IT & Technology categories
• Track record of progression from Buyer to Senior Buyer/Category Manager
• Degree or MCIPS preferred but not essential
