Overview

In this role you advise clients on data centre design and programme delivery across the full lifecycle, from site selection to commissioning. You will operate across an international portfolio, shaping decisions on design, resilience, procurement, and delivery strategy while projects are still open. You work with cross-functional teams and engage senior stakeholders, providing reviews, reports, and recommendations. This is an entrepreneurial, client-facing advisory position with opportunities to influence the wider technical offering.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on data centre design and programme delivery
  • Lead and support technical due diligence and feasibility assessments
  • Provide design oversight and technical reviews
  • Advise on procurement and construction strategy
  • Act as subject matter expert for MEP systems, critical infrastructure, layouts, resilience, phasing and buildability
  • Collaborate with designers, engineers, project managers and senior client stakeholders
  • Produce technical reports, risk assessments, design reviews and client recommendations
  • Support construction oversight and commissioning strategy
  • Keep clients informed on emerging technologies, market developments and industry standards
  • Represent the consultancy in client meetings, workshops and industry discussions

Key requirements

  • A career in data centre design, construction or project delivery with 5–10 years of experience
  • Strong knowledge of critical data centre systems (mechanical, electrical, cooling)
  • Solid grasp of data centre design and construction best practices
  • Experience across complex design or delivery programmes
  • Confidence to engage with senior clients and technical stakeholders
  • Ability to translate complex engineering problems into clear commercial recommendations
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholder groups concurrently
  • Degree in engineering or a related discipline
  • Chartered status is welcome but not essential
