Overview

In this role, you will lead the sales engine for a priority sector within FT’s Corporate Licensing, driving revenue across new business, renewals and strategic accounts. You will manage a regional team and partner with cross-functional leaders to align sector priorities with the global commercial strategy. You’ll turn customer insight and market intelligence into growth opportunities, shaping the FT’s enterprise licensing capabilities. This is a high-impact, leadership role in a world-class news organisation that values collaboration, curiosity and long-term relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver revenue across new business, renewals, expansion and strategic account development.
  • Ensure global sector strategy is executed consistently across markets with Regional Sales Directors and Head of Total Account Management.
  • Contribute to sector commercial strategy and identify opportunities for sustainable growth.
  • Identify emerging customer needs, market dynamics, competitor activity and trends affecting sector priorities.
  • Spot potential partnerships, investments and acquisitions to strengthen FT’s sector position; escalate to senior leadership.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key customers, industry bodies and market influencers; enhance FT’s profile in the sector.
  • Represent the sector as the commercial voice, bringing customer insight to leadership discussions.

Key requirements

  • Significant experience leading enterprise B2B commercial teams in complex markets.
  • Strong understanding of one or more priority sectors; ability to develop deep sector expertise.
  • Proven track record of sustainable growth through new business, strategic account development and retention.
  • Strong commercial judgment balancing short-term performance with long-term relationships.
  • Curious, entrepreneurial mindset with ability to identify market opportunities and growth opportunities.
  • Experience leading integrated commercial organisations including BDM, CRM, Customer Success and Sales Development.
  • Experience navigating a matrix organisation and influencing across functions.
