Overview
In this role you will manage the commercial and financial aspects of infrastructure and utilities projects to safeguard profitability and contractual compliance. You will collaborate with project managers to develop commercial strategies, control cashflow, and mitigate risks. You’ll prepare cost forecasts, maintain contract reporting, and support procurement and subcontract administration. A strong foundation in contract law and clear reporting will be essential, with Power BI data capabilities offering an advantage.
Responsibilities
- Manage commercial and financial aspects of projects to ensure profitability and compliance
- Develop and implement commercial strategies with project teams
- Control cashflow and mitigate commercial risks
- Prepare accurate cost forecasts and maintain contract cost reporting systems
- Liaise with clients and third parties on commercial matters
- Support procurement activities including subcontract documentation and negotiations
- Ensure subcontractor accounts are managed per contract terms
Key requirements
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or equivalent
- Experience as Cost Engineer or Quantity Surveyor
- Proficient in Power BI and data modelling (relational tables)
- Strong commercial and financial analysis skills
- Knowledge of construction and contract law
- Contract cost reporting and forecasting
- Cashflow and commercial risk management
- MRICS / Associate Professional (AP) status (aspiring or held)
- Liaison and communication with clients/third parties
