Family Group Conference Coordinator

Overview

In this fixed-term role, you will support families in making safe decisions through Family Group Conferences. You will facilitate gatherings of children’s networks to identify safe, workable solutions. You work independently and empower families by centering their views. You join Coventry City Council’s mission to place children and families at the heart of practice in an inclusive, supportive environment. This role offers the chance to influence outcomes for Coventry’s children within a values-driven council.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Family Group Conferences
• Coordinate and chair complex meetings
• Bring together children’s support networks to find safe solutions
• Promote family participation and ensure views are central to outcomes
• work collaboratively with cross-functional colleagues to deliver safeguarding outcomes

Key requirements

• Professional qualification and proven experience with children and families
• First-degree level education and/or relevant qualification
• Knowledge of Family Group Conferencing and relational/solution-focused practice
• Ability to mediate, negotiate and promote family-based problem solving
• Strong communication and active listening skills
• Ability to coordinate, facilitate and chair complex meetings
• Neutral, respectful approach with children, young people and families
