Overview
In this Internal Auditor role, you will plan, lead, and deliver risk-based internal audits within a large, purpose-led charity. You will engage senior management to assess governance, risk, and controls, and propose practical improvements. The position offers exposure to diverse operational and strategic risks and the chance to influence governance across a complex organisation. You will work with cross-functional stakeholders to strengthen assurance and automation practices.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end internal audit reviews from planning to reporting
- Support development and delivery of the annual risk-based internal audit plan
- Build credibility with senior stakeholders across functions
- Identify control weaknesses, risk exposures, and improvement opportunities
- Contribute to internal audit methodology, systems, and automation
- Assist in reporting to senior leadership, trustees and Audit & Risk Committees
- Provide internal controls and risk management advice on key initiatives
Key requirements
- Recognised professional qualification such as IIA, CIA, ACA or ACCA
- Experience delivering risk-based internal audits in complex organisations
- Ability to build credibility with senior management and governance bodies
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
