Overview

In this role you will lead the day-to-day delivery of nationwide commercial fit-out and light industrial projects, from mobilisation to handover. You’ll work with cross-functional teams to ensure safety, programme compliance and quality, delivering projects typically around 500k. The role requires regular UK travel and staying away from home as needed, with a focus on practical site leadership and operational excellence. You will contribute to delivering high‑quality sites for DWP environments and similar clients, shaping efficient site processes and standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day delivery of commercial fit-out and light industrial projects
  • Own site operations from mobilisation through completion
  • Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams
  • Ensure safe, on‑programme, quality‑driven project delivery
  • Manage site logistics, sequencing and short-term programmes
  • Conduct site inductions, briefings and toolbox talks
  • Monitor progress and report against programme
  • Liaise with Project Manager, client and wider project team
  • Maintain accurate site records and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with H&S legislation and company procedures
  • Drive quality, snagging and handover through to completion

Key requirements

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager in commercial fit-out, light industrial, refurbishment or design & build
  • Experience managing projects around 500k
  • Strong subcontractor and site management experience
  • Good understanding of construction programmes, sequencing and site logistics
  • Strong health & safety awareness
  • SMSTS and Black CSCS required
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and stay away from home when required
