Overview

As Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will lead commercial management on site to protect margins and drive risk control. You’ll supervise junior staff and partner with the Commercial Manager/Project Manager to align commercial activity with project goals. You’ll own compensation events, EWN processes, and reporting streams while supporting procurement and spotting opportunities to reduce cost and maximise revenue. The role centers on back-to-back risk allocation, timely payments, and stakeholder influence to sustain project value. This on-site position offers hands-on impact across multi-disciplinary teams in a safety-first environment.

Responsibilities

  • Commercial management for allocated system of works (main contract and subcontractors)
  • CEMAR administration
  • Identification and notification of compensation events
  • Assessment of effects of compensation events
  • Ownership of EWN processes, mitigations
  • Defect notification and close out
  • Payment assessments, certificates, pay less notices per timescales
  • Support of procurement function in supply chain engagement
  • Proactive identification of cost-reduction opportunities and revenue maximisation
  • Establish and maintain risk registers with assessments and mitigations
  • Management of reporting stream (budget, forecast to complete, rates, cost components)
  • Record in-period time/cost variations and trend analysis
  • Ensure back-to-back risk allocation with Subcontractors
  • Influence stakeholders to maintain/increase forecast gross margin
  • Coordinate and advise staff in execution of above
  • Mentor development of junior staff
  • Provide guidance to commercial team on alignment to strategy
  • Provide ongoing support to commercial team
