Overview

In this role you will lead high‑quality reserving work for a diverse client base, including Lloyd’s and international insurers, while contributing to capital and pricing initiatives. You’ll collaborate with market leaders to advance reserving offerings and participate in transformation, analytics, and thought leadership projects. The position combines client delivery, cross‑functional collaboration, and opportunities to influence cutting‑edge propositions within a supportive, multi‑disciplinary team. You will help shape solutions that solve real business challenges and support career growth at WTW.

Responsibilities

  • Lead delivery of high‑quality work to agreed deadlines for a broad client base
  • Conduct independent reserve reviews and contribute to reserving offerings (process transformation, automation, methodology reviews, ResQ and MLR implementations, M&A due diligence, outsourced reserving, IFRS17, Solvency II)
  • Interpret data and present model results with clear conclusions and uncertainties
  • Lead or contribute to UK/European/global thought leadership and innovative work streams (advanced analytics, reserving transformation)
  • Manage projects or major work streams from conception to delivery, including client communications and junior staff management
  • Support business development through client relationship building, proposals, and speaking at events
  • Mentor and develop teams through line management, training, and recruitment
  • Collaborate with capital, risk, pricing, portfolio management, underwriting, finance and claims teams to deliver integrated client solutions

Key requirements

  • Non-life insurance background with extensive reserving experience
  • Strong knowledge of London Market or Commercial Lines with reserving or mixed role experience
  • Ability to write client deliverables and reports clearly
  • Experience presenting results and communicating uncertainties to senior stakeholders
  • Ability to see the big picture and leverage related practices for client challenges
  • Proven project management, prioritisation, delegation and time management
  • Personable, approachable and enthusiastic team player
  • Qualified actuary (FIA or equivalent) or equivalent experience
  • Willingness to travel to UK offices or client sites
  • Experience with coding languages desirable
  • Experience or interest in AI developments desirable
