Overview
In this Project Engineer role, you will establish and develop the Network Design PMO and continuous improvement capability to provide governance, performance insight, and clear portfolio decisions. You will translate engineering priorities into actionable plans and executive messages, collaborating with technical delivery teams and senior stakeholders. The role shapes a structured programme to improve delivery outcomes and value realization. You’ll work hybrid from Warwick, contributing to the energy transition and broader organizational goals.

- salary: 56,000-66,000

Responsibilities
- Establish and develop the Network Design PMO and governance
- Maintain an integrated view of the portfolio (initiatives, milestones, risks, benefits)
- Coordinate intake, assessment and prioritisation of new requests
- Translate complex engineering information into portfolio insights and executive messages
- Identify high-value growth opportunities with Network Design teams
- Develop meaningful KPIs and management information for delivery visibility
- Analyze data to identify trends and inform decisions
- Prepare governance materials (dashboards, briefing notes, presentations)
- Support prioritised improvement programmes and benefits realisation
- Promote consistent ways of working and high-quality data for governance
- Build cross-team relationships and manage change/engagement
Key requirements
- Experience delivering PMO activities, projects, programmes or business improvement in a complex organisation
- Strong stakeholder management across technical and senior leadership
- Ability to structure work and maintain momentum across organisational boundaries
- Excellent written and verbal communication for executive updates
- Collaborative, improvement-focused mindset with sound judgement
- Experience delivering engineering/technical solutions to customer/stakeholder needs
- Understanding of portfolio, programme and project management principles
- Ability to define and manage KPIs and extract actionable insights
- Strong analytical skills with focus on data quality and evidence-based recommendations
- Experience with digital tools for portfolio tracking, reporting and executive communication
- Desirable: understanding of electricity transmission or regulated infrastructure environments
