Overview

In this role you will drive procurement and contract management across major capital and infrastructure programmes at Devonport Royal Dockyard. You will collaborate with engineering, project management and commercial teams to ensure compliant, on-time supply of goods and services. You’ll shape supplier performance, manage risks under NEC4 frameworks, and support governance across complex defence projects. Responsibilities

  • Lead procurement activities across capital projects, infrastructure programmes, and new works initiatives
  • Establish and manage framework agreements for professional services, construction works, and specialist suppliers
  • Build strong supplier relationships to drive performance, innovation, value and continuous improvement
  • Negotiate commercial terms and support effective risk management in line with NEC4 contract requirements
  • Monitor contract performance, resolve issues, and support change control and governance processes

Key requirements

  • Extensive experience delivering procurement across capital projects, new works programmes, and framework agreements
  • Strong knowledge of NEC4 contracts, including negotiation, commercial risk management, and contract optimisation
  • Proven supplier relationship management experience with performance improvement and issue resolution
  • Experience collaborating with engineering, project management, commercial, and technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of procurement best practice, compliance processes, risk management, and digital procurement systems (Oracle ERP, e-tendering)
  • NEC3 or NEC4 training
  • MCIPS qualification, equivalent qualification, or working towards professional accreditation
  • Ability to obtain and maintain Security Check clearance
