Overview

In this role you lead project reviews, manage records and reporting, and support delivery across safety, risk, and technical specifications. You work with cross-functional teams to align scope, resources, and compliance with the company’s safety standards. You will drive risk assessments, RAMS development, and safe systems of work while mentoring others and coordinating with stakeholders. This position offers the chance to impact major power transmission projects and advance the safety culture and performance of the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead project reviews and meetings and maintain project records (progress, diaries)
  • Prepare internal/external reports and liaise with stakeholders to inform decisions
  • Ensure scope and package assignments support coordinated team delivery
  • Translate technical information and drawings into delivery plans
  • Specify plant and equipment requirements and ensure safety compliance
  • Promote Zero Harm and stay updated on legislation
  • Conduct safety/Environmental tours and promote safety initiatives
  • Support Accident/Incident investigations and H&S management system improvements
  • Write/review RAMS and subcontractor RAMS; manage risks and hazards
  • Ensure workforce sufficiency and competency; issue safety documentation
  • Complete audits and set people to work; support risk/opportunity reviews
  • Develop resource allocation plans and mentor the team
  • Coordinate with project activities and internal functions; motivate and empower team
  • Produce team plans to achieve goals and deputise for Project Manager
  • Demonstrate resilience and drive continuous improvement across projects
  • Support the project team with planning, execution, and stakeholder communication

Key requirements

  • Organised, innovative, and experienced project engineer with commercial/project management communications expertise
  • Experience implementing safe systems of work
  • Experience managing risks and change through solutions-based problem solving
  • Strong interpersonal skills across levels and stakeholder negotiation
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
  • Awareness and promotion of diversity and inclusion

  • Proficiency with O365
  • Holds or working towards construction/engineering qualification or equivalent experience
