Overview
In this role you will lead and deliver simulator-based flight training at our Gatwick centre while maintaining instructional capability. You’ll oversee training programmes, ensure regulatory and CAE standards compliance, and support customer needs. You will lead instructors, coordinate scheduling, and contribute to curriculum and courseware development. This role blends managerial duties with hands-on simulator instruction to drive training excellence and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities
- Oversee assigned training programmes to support effective delivery, satisfaction, instructor utilisation and business objectives
- Deliver simulator instruction in line with approved programmes, customer requirements, regulatory standards and CAE procedures
- Maintain training records and regulatory documentation compliant with requirements
- Support training scheduling to ensure appropriate instructor allocation and operational coverage
- Ensure adherence to approved processes, manuals, and regulatory requirements
- Act as point of contact with technical personnel to support device serviceability for curricula
- Support customer and sales activities as delegated by the Deputy Head of Training
- Manage instructors, including qualifications, authorisations and currency
- Conduct simulator and classroom observations, assessments and competency reviews
- Support instructor standardisation initiatives and training updates
- Contribute to workforce planning and staffing recommendations
- Support course preparation and ensure materials are ready before programme start
- Contribute to development and maintenance of curricula, courseware and training materials
- Monitor trainee progress, address performance concerns and escalate as needed
- Support compliance with Approved Training Organisation (ATO) requirements
- Perform other duties to ensure safe, compliant training in line with CAE procedures
Key requirements
- Professional pilot licence (CPL, ATPL, or equivalent) or equivalent recognised aviation qualification
- SFI, TRI or equivalent instructor qualification appropriate to the programme (desirable)
- Extensive aviation and flight training experience
- Working knowledge of aviation regulations, training governance and ATO processes
- Experience in instructor oversight, training delivery, or operational training management
- Experience maintaining training records and regulatory compliance
- Strong interpersonal, communication and stakeholder management skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to quality, accuracy and customer focus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work flexible schedules including weekends and holidays; willingness to travel within the region
