Counsel, Telecommunications (Starlink)

Overview

In this role you will counsel the Starlink team on European and African telecom laws and policies, helping the business navigate regulatory risks and secure licenses. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate legal developments into actionable compliance guidance. Based in London, you will interface with regulatory bodies and monitor policy changes to support global broadband initiatives. Responsibilities

• Advise on laws, regulations, and policies affecting Europe and parts of Africa, focusing on telecommunications and internet services
• Analyze regulatory risks and communicate them to business and technical teams to enable compliant decisions and licensing
• Monitor ongoing legal and policy developments related to Starlink
• Interface with governmental agencies regarding regulatory, consumer protection, and law enforcement matters

Key requirements

• 5+ years of regulatory compliance experience in telecommunications related to broadband and/or satellite services
• Juris Doctor, Bachelor of Laws or equivalent degree from an accredited institution
• Active license to practice law in at least one jurisdiction

• Strong communication skills to concisely share knowledge with teammates
• Ability to translate complex regulatory issues for non-legal audiences
• Proactive, initiative-driven and resilient in a high-growth environment
• Knowledge of telecommunications regulatory issues, especially outside the U.S.
• Regulatory risk analysis and licensing processes
