Overview

In this role you will oversee and continuously improve manufacturing quality within designated production units, collaborating with Operations, Engineering, Inspection and Quality Assurance to meet product and process requirements. You will lead root cause investigations, drive corrective actions, and support PFMEA/CONTROL plans and FAIR activities to ensure compliance and quality performance. The position supports AS9100/NADCAP compliance and data-driven quality improvements in an aerospace environment. This is a hands-on role focused on measurable improvements and cross-functional impact.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse non-conformance data to identify improvement opportunities
  • Lead root cause investigations and corrective actions, ensuring documentation and verification of effectiveness
  • Collate and present RCA, corrective actions and verification to management
  • Support Engineering in inspection reference materials and visual aids
  • Maintain and improve quality/reference documentation for production and inspection personnel
  • Manage inspection stamps – issue, scope control and withdrawal per process
  • Participate in MRB meetings and support NCR/8D investigations
  • Train others in NCR/8D investigations and latest issue forms
  • Maintain scrap/quarantine data and analyze trends to reduce waste
  • Set up and conduct containment audits and ensure corrective actions are taken
  • Involve in PFMEA/Control Plans and FAIR/LAIR activities and ensure completeness of FAIR packages
  • Support Quality Management System improvements and regulatory compliance
  • Conduct internal/process audits and address audit findings
  • Measure and report on quality KPIs and trends
  • Provide quality training and promote continuous improvement

Key requirements

  • HND / Degree in engineering/related technical subject or equivalent experience
  • Experience in aerospace quality environment
  • Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings
  • Experience of investigating non-conformances and implementing corrective actions
  • Experience with internal/process audits and FAIR/AS9102 activities advantageous
  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements; NADCAP knowledge advantageous
  • Good verbal and written communication at all levels
  • Strong numeracy and literacy
  • Problem-solving and data analysis skills
