Overview
As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer, you will design, implement and manage the core physical infrastructure with a Cisco‑centric focus. You will ensure high availability and secure connectivity between data centers and distributed offices, acting as the networking SME. You’ll oversee hardware lifecycle, from procurement to decommissioning, and collaborate with systems and security teams to harden the environment. This role sits in LMUK Strategic Systems, supporting a mission‑critical, scalable network backbone. Expect hands‑on work, cross‑team collaboration, and impact on data center and site‑to‑site connectivity.

Responsibilities
- Design and maintain high‑performance data center network fabrics (Cisco Nexus, Catalyst)
- Manage and optimize connectivity between data centers and distributed office sites (WAN/LAN)
- Configure and troubleshoot routing and switching (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP; VLANs; STP)
- Implement and maintain perimeter and internal network security (firewall management)
- Lead hardware refreshes, firmware upgrades, and capacity planning for physical networking assets
- Act as escalation point for network outages with deep‑packet and root‑cause analysis
- Document physical topologies, IP addressing, and configuration standards
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Significant hands‑on experience in enterprise infrastructure or network engineering
- Proven experience managing Cisco data center switches and routing/switching
- Expert knowledge of Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols
- Strong understanding of WAN technologies, VPNs (IPsec), and site‑to‑site connectivity
- Advanced ability to use CLI tools and protocol analyzers (e.g., Wireshark) for issue resolution
