Overview

In this role you will serve as a commercially embedded IP-first adviser to Marketing and the wider business, owning trademark, copyright and brand protection, and guiding AI-enabled content and emerging technology matters. You will lead the development of practical IP playbooks and coordinate expert support to enable risk-managed decisions. You will support Marketing, Security, Risk and Tax teams, shaping IP strategy across a global portfolio and complex partnerships. Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement and oversee trademark clearance and registration across global entities and sub-brands
  • Oversee brand protection strategy and online monitoring with lead agency, including cease and desist communications
  • Support management of the company’s domain name portfolio
  • Analyze and resolve third-party trademark and copyright claims/litigations
  • Manage external IP counsel and service providers
  • Drive efficiency and consistency in trademark and copyright practices with internal clients
  • Counsel on IP issues in contracts and new products; maintain IP portfolio status in databases
  • Collaborate with Marketing, Security, Risk and Tax teams to broaden impact while maintaining high-quality advice
  • Advise on copyright/content licensing, AI-generated content, brand use and enforcement, and related agreements
  • Act as first legal contact for content and marketing IP issues and manage contentious IP matters
  • Advise Marketing on campaign strategy, paid search, media buying, attribution, platform relationships
  • Develop playbooks, decision trees, risk tiers and self-service guidance for common IP issues
  • Coordinate AI-related patent issues, monitor developments and advise on patent protection when appropriate
  • Work with Cybersecurity, Fraud, Trust & Safety and Communications on brand impersonation and AI-enabled scams
  • Fill gaps across Marketing by coordinating with risk teams and supporting decisions

Key requirements

  • 5-8 years practising law (in-house or private practice)
  • Experience advising on IP and marketing, including digital content and AI-enabled content
  • Ability to guide IP issues involving trademark and copyright, mitigate risks, and create non-attorney guidance
  • Experience managing international IP portfolios with diverse stakeholders
  • Law degree from a top law school; excellent academic credentials
  • Ability to handle change and ambiguity in law; fast-paced, multi-tasking能力
