Overview

As Procurement Project Manager, you will define and drive the procurement acquisition plan across development and production phases to meet time, cost, quality and risk targets. You will act as the bridge between internal customers and transnational procurements, ensuring market offers support design needs and optimising parts cost with Category Managers. You’ll monitor execution via the procurement dashboard and ensure contractual alignment, contributing to Thales’ mission in defence and aerospace. This role offers exposure to a multinational environment and opportunities to shape supplier strategy in a high‑stakes context.

Responsibilities

  • Define and execute the procurement acquisition plan/strategy across project, product development and production phases within targets
  • Link internal customers with transnational procurements and interface to all segments/categories
  • Validate market offers for product/project design feasibility
  • Optimize procured parts cost with Category/Subcontract/Tactical Buyers to improve solution competitiveness
  • Monitor procurement plan execution with operational teams and update the procurement dashboard
  • Define and monitor contractual requirements of the procurement plan

Key requirements

  • Understanding of the procurement lifecycle, strategy and supplier management across bid, project, product development and production phases
  • Experience in complex multinational, multi-site organisations; Defence/Aerospace/Manufacturing exposure desirable
  • Strong technical awareness of end-to-end procurement activities with project management experience; ability to identify risks and opportunities
  • Excellent communication, influencing and negotiation skills; ability to build durable internal/external relationships
  • Ability to work autonomously in a matrix organisation and manage own deliverables
  • MCIPS / IACCM / EIPM qualifications – desirable
