Overview

In this role you will support safe, high-quality delivery of major water and wastewater infrastructure projects. You will set out and survey works, supervise site staff, and ensure robust QA and HSE compliance while coordinating daily activities with cross-functional teams. You will help drive programme delivery and resolve on-site technical issues, contributing to the project’s success and the client’s objectives. Responsibilities

  • Setting out and surveying civil works per project specifications
  • Supervising subcontractors and site operatives for safe and efficient delivery
  • Completing quality inspections, inspection and test plans, and records
  • Producing and maintaining site documentation, progress reports, and site records
  • Supporting programme delivery, short-term planning, and daily activity coordination
  • Ensuring compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality requirements
  • Identifying and resolving technical issues on site, escalating as appropriate
  • Collaborating with construction, commercial, quality, design and client teams

Key requirements

  • Degree/HNC/HND in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Experience in site-based civil engineering or infrastructure projects
  • Understanding of setting out and surveying techniques
  • Knowledge of health, safety, environmental and quality requirements in construction
  • Experience within the water sector
  • Working knowledge of NEC contracts
  • SMSTS, SSSTS or equivalent site safety qualification
  • Experience using digital construction tools and quality assurance systems
  • Membership of ICE or another relevant professional institution
  • Full UK driving licence
