Overview

Senior role leading PFAS and emerging contaminants capability across Europe within a multidisciplinary consultancy. You will shape strategy, lead technical excellence, and drive market growth while engaging with clients and regulators. The position emphasizes thought leadership, capability development, and cross-border collaboration to deliver science-led remediation solutions. This is an opportunity to influence European strategy and build a high-impact practice.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership: develop and deliver PFAS and emerging contaminants strategy across Europe and grow a market-leading service offering
  • Technical Leadership: act as senior SME, provide governance and QA across complex projects, develop risk-based remediation strategies
  • Business Development & Client Engagement: build relationships with clients, regulators and industry stakeholders; lead bids and opportunities; raise profile through thought leadership
  • Innovation and Industry Leadership: identify funded research opportunities and promote best practices; collaborate with technology providers and academia
  • Team development and collaboration: mentor technical staff and align capability growth with forecast growth and wider business strategy

Key requirements

  • Significant experience in PFAS and emerging contaminants assessment and consultancy
  • Strong site characterisation, conceptual site modelling, risk assessment and remediation planning experience
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary projects and provide senior technical review
  • Track record in client engagement and opportunity conversion
  • Experience with regulators, contractors and industry stakeholders
  • Clear, concise, technically robust report writing
  • Ability to mentor and develop technical teams
  • Collaborative, ethical and commercially aware approach
  • Good health, safety and environmental management understanding
  • UK driving licence
  • Postgraduate qualification (advantageous) and chartered status or progress towards chartership
