Overview

In this role, you will manage critical supervisory relationships to support Visa’s regulatory objectives in Europe, focusing on governance, risk monitoring, and regulatory deliverables. You will collaborate with risk, legal, and global teams to coordinate regulator interactions and drive assurance across key policies. The position combines strategic advisory with hands-on execution to shield the business from regulatory risks and enable growth. You will engage with senior leaders and regulators to shape adaptive regulatory responses and sustain a compliant, resilient risk framework.

Responsibilities

  • Manage ongoing engagement with the Bank of England and other UK/European regulators.
  • Design and implement processes for regulatory deliverables (PRR, PFMI assessment, Regulatory College, FSB Continuity in Resolution, etc.).
  • Oversee briefing packs for C-suite ahead of supervisory meetings with BoE.
  • Respond to external regulatory requests in a timely, accurate manner.
  • Monitor incident reporting to regulators (BoE, ECB, NBP) and inform stakeholders.
  • Horizon scan regulator landscape to stay ahead of regulatory changes affecting Visa in Europe.
  • Advise senior management on emerging regulatory risks and mitigation (including Product Risk Review).
  • Contribute to strategy, oversight, and delivery of Risk Europe initiatives and Global Risk strategy.
  • Collaborate across Risk Europe and Global Risk to improve efficiency and consistency in risk management.
  • Provide training and share expertise to enhance global risk capabilities.
  • Act as a credible expert and change agent within a matrix organization.
  • Support culture of collaboration, professionalism, and accountability in Risk Europe.

Key requirements

  • 5+ years of relevant experience with a Bachelor’s Degree, or advanced degree for alternative entry (Master, MBA, JD, etc.), or equivalent
  • Strong understanding of regulatory environments and governance processes
  • Experience dealing with regulators and delivering regulatory communications
  • Ability to review regulatory reporting for quality and identify inconsistencies
  • Capacity to perform under pressure and deliver ad-hoc regulatory deliverables under tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of risk management practices in financial services, and familiarity with UK/European payments landscape
  • Proven ability to build and maintain internal and external stakeholder relationships
  • Fluent in English (verbal and written) and proficient with MS Office
