Overview
In this role you contribute to shaping low-carbon energy transitions by delivering rigorous analysis and practical guidance on electricity networks and energy systems. You’ll work within the Low Carbon Solutions team to support clients across networks, built environment, and smart energy projects, translating technical findings into actionable insights. Your work will blend research, quantitative modeling, and stakeholder engagement to drive decarbonisation outcomes. Responsibilities
- Conduct research into energy technologies, markets, and regulatory frameworks with structured analysis and stakeholder engagement
- Perform quantitative analysis of energy systems and technologies, including techno-economic modeling
- Utilise Python and other analytical packages to support data analysis and reproducible workflows
- Contribute to client projects by producing clear reports, presentations, and briefing materials
- Build and nurture relationships with clients and stakeholders; support meetings and workshops
- Present complex technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
Key requirements
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification in physical science, engineering, economics or another relevant discipline (Minimum 2.1)
- Strong interest in sustainability and low carbon energy
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to handle complex datasets and draw conclusions
