Overview
In this role you join Pharmaron’s Cardiff QC team to perform final product analysis for client compounds, primarily via HPLC, with opportunities to grow into MS and NMR. You’ll work on a dynamic range of samples, switching methods as priorities shift, and contribute to method development, troubleshooting, and compliant documentation. You’ll operate in a small, supportive team, upholding safety and quality standards while supporting audits and continuous improvement. This is a hands-on, varied role ideal for building a foundation in analytical chemistry within an industrial lab. You’ll gain practical experience in radiolabelled materials with appropriate training and career progression in QC.

Responsibilities
- Carry out QC analysis of final products using HPLC
- Work from supplied analytical methods and assist with method development and troubleshooting
- Interpret results and clearly communicate findings to senior colleagues
- Maintain detailed, retrievable laboratory records
- Carefully use and maintain laboratory instruments per manufacturer specs
- Meet timelines and flag risks early to supervisor
- Handle and dispose of waste according to procedures
- Ensure work complies with safety regulations, SOPs and ISO9000 site standards
- Support departmental/site audits as required
- Collaborate with colleagues to help the team achieve goals
Key requirements
- Degree in chemistry or related discipline
- Strong theoretical and practical understanding of analytical techniques, especially HPLC
- Meticulous attention to detail in lab work and records
- Adaptable and able to stay calm under pressure with a varied workload
- Good organizational and time management skills with ability to meet deadlines
