Overview

In this role you will help build Citi’s next-generation low-latency electronic execution platform, collaborating with traders, quants, and cross-functional partners. You’ll shape high-performance trading systems and leverage AI-powered development tools to enhance SDLC, testing, and delivery at scale. The position sits at the intersection of technology, markets, and global strategy, offering mentorship and a path to impact across regions. You will drive improvements in latency, throughput, and reliability to support real-time financial decisions.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop and maintain high-performance, low-latency electronic execution systems
  • Collaborate with traders, quants and clients to translate needs into product features
  • Enhance testing frameworks, tools, and environments for reliability and scale
  • Leverage AI-powered tools across the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) to boost productivity and code quality
  • Contribute to Agile practices and CI/CD with a focus on shift-left testing and faster releases
  • Build and maintain shared solutions for trading platform monitoring, reconciliation, and recovery

Key requirements

  • Strong expertise in low-latency Java and Rust
  • Experience developing electronic trading platforms in a global financial setting
  • Solid automated testing knowledge and quality engineering practices
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and CI processes
  • Understanding of low-latency system design, performance optimization, concurrency and high-throughput architectures
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced, distributed environment
  • Excellent communication skills in a multicultural, cross-regional context
  • Knowledge of regional exchange microstructure and regulatory regimes
  • C++ experience would be advantageous
  • Prior experience managing small teams is a plus
