Overview
In this role you will lead international technology governance and oversight, aligning portfolios, regulatory commitments and strategic investments with enterprise standards. You’ll shape the AI and emerging tech agenda, ensuring responsible innovation within risk and control frameworks. You will collaborate with regional and enterprise teams to provide transparent, decision-worthy governance and performance insights that drive measurable business outcomes. This is a high-impact role at scale, responsible for governance modernization and cross-functional delivery excellence.
Responsibilities
- Lead international technology governance routines, setting standards, portfolio oversight, delivery controls and reporting for a diverse portfolio
- Provide an integrated view of demand, prioritization, investment governance, milestones, dependencies, capacity, financials, benefits, risks and executive decisions
- Chair or coordinate senior governance forums to deliver clear recommendations and decision-quality information
- Create and maintain governance frameworks, performance metrics, portfolio health indicators and benefits realization processes
- Resolve cross-functional dependencies, blockers, governance gaps and control issues across Business, Product, Engineering, Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Data and Risk
- Drive the International Technology Innovation & AI agenda through governance forums and investment processes
- Establish innovation and AI operating processes from evaluation to scaled implementation with governance approvals
- Oversee responsible AI adoption ensuring alignment with data governance, privacy, cybersecurity, model risk, legal and compliance
- Partner with SMEs to evaluate AI-enabled solutions, articulate value, assess feasibility and risk, embed governance
- Promote automation, analytics and AI-enabled tooling to simplify governance and improve management information and decision-making
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement by embedding AI opportunities in governance forums
- Coach delivery professionals and promote consistent governance and delivery standards
- Support regulatory, audit and control engagements with clear governance evidence and remediation activity
Key requirements
- Governance leadership in a large, regulated organization with experience in MOFs, transformation offices or complex technology change programs
- Proven ability to establish governance frameworks, portfolio oversight, prioritization, financial governance, dependency and risk management, and benefits realization
- Strong grasp of agile, hybrid and traditional project delivery methodologies
- Experience defining governance operating models and influencing strategic investment and portfolio decisions
- Practical knowledge of AI, generative AI, automation and data-enabled transformation including governance, risk and responsible-use considerations
- Ability to implement governance and oversight processes that enable innovation within regulatory standards
- Proven ability to influence senior executives and facilitate complex decisions under pressure
- Experience leading cross-functional teams across Business, Product, Technology, Data, Risk, Compliance and Controls
- Strong commercial and analytical skills for evaluating investments, value potential and delivery feasibility
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills with executive-level reporting
