In this role you will provide commercial, operational and administrative support to Account Managers across strategic accounts to enable activity and drive profitable growth. You will build deep account knowledge, coordinate quotes and orders, and maintain CRM records to support timely decisions. You will collaborate with internal teams and the offshore Romania centre to improve efficiency and service quality. You will engage with partner ecosystems and vendor programmes to maximise margins and support upsell opportunities. Responsibilities
- Provide dedicated day-to-day support to assigned Account Managers across strategic customer accounts
- Hold regular account-priority calls with Account Managers to agree focus areas, customer actions, opportunities, risks, and deadlines
- Build and maintain account knowledge covering stakeholders, procurement routes, customer portals, frameworks, service requirements, vendor agreements, and commercial processes
- Develop understanding of sectors and end-customer environments supported by assigned partners, recognising governance and commercial requirements influence on activity
- Support Account Managers in retaining existing business, progressing pipeline, identifying growth opportunities, and improving customer engagement
- Coordinate quotations, pricing requests, orders, renewals, special bids, and deal registrations with Revenue Operations and vendors
- Use vendor pricing programmes and portals to secure competitive pricing and maximise SCC margin
- Ensure pre-sales enquiries, quotations, orders, and customer requests are handled accurately and within timescales
- Proactively chase outstanding quotations, orders, and customer actions, updating Account Managers on progress and risks
- Maintain accurate CRM records for assigned accounts including opportunities, pipeline activity, and outcomes
- Support meeting preparation, follow-up actions, reporting, and account reviews
- Collaborate with Romania offshore support team on administrative tasks such as quote management and order processing
- Promote SCC tools such as Lifecycle to support standardisation and maintenance
- Develop working knowledge of SCC products, services and vendor propositions to assist upsell/cross-sell conversations
- Coordinate resolution of customer issues and escalate risks promptly with Account Managers
- Liaise with internal teams (Credit Control, Warehouse, Operations, Enterprise, Revenue Operations)
- Support product lifecycle management and transitions for end-of-life products
- Maintain awareness of bids, service levels, and governance requirements
- Keep product, vendor and market knowledge current and apply SCC offerings to accounts
Key requirements
- Experience in sales support, account support, or fast-paced customer environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational and time-management skills with multi-account prioritisation
- Experience in supporting upsell and cross-sell activity is desirable
- Ability to work with Account Managers and own actions
- Strong interpersonal skills with internal stakeholders, vendors, and customers
- Ability to work accurately to tight deadlines and escalate risks early
- Good IT, CRM, numeracy, and literacy skills
- Confidence using customer and vendor portals and digital tools
- Ability to learn and communicate a broad range of technology solutions
- Commercial awareness of sales, quoting, orders, and procurement processes
