Overview
As Accounts Preparation Manager, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality statutory accounts for a diverse client portfolio and lead a team through planning, preparation, and review. You’ll provide practical technical guidance while ensuring timely year-end processes and compliance. The role includes training junior staff and driving process improvements within the division. Responsibilities
- Manage client relationships from planning to completion, resolving queries and ensuring smooth delivery
- Prepare and review statutory and trust accounts
- Provide clear, practical technical advice to clients
- Oversee year-end and compliance work to ensure timely completion
- Train, supervise and appraise junior team members
- Lead training programs for new joiners and support development in systems and procedures
- Develop and enhance accounts preparation processes, including procedure packs and electronic workpapers
- Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives across the division
Key requirements
- ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
- Strong background in accounts preparation
- Detailed working knowledge of IFRS and FRS 102
- Experience with Pro‑Audit, Caseware and CCH
- Strong consolidation accounting skills
- Proven ability to manage a varied client portfolio
