Overview

Senior finance leader responsible for financial control, governance and external reporting across Royal Mail and the Corporate Centre. Reports to the Director of Group Finance and leads a large, dispersed finance function while supporting major transformation, including SAP S/4HANA. You will be a trusted adviser to executive stakeholders, strengthening controls and ensuring quality reporting. This is a pivotal role during a period of significant change and capability-building in Finance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead financial control, balance sheet governance and external reporting across Royal Mail and the Corporate Centre
  • Own UK inputs into Group consolidation and support robust Group external reporting
  • Lead statutory reporting, annual reporting and external audit activities
  • Provide guidance on complex accounting matters and IFRS interpretation
  • Strengthen controls and drive continuous improvement across governance and financial control processes
  • Prepare Board and Audit Committee papers and offer insight on risks and judgments
  • Lead finance transformation programmes ensuring governance, reporting and controls remain robust
  • Lead, develop and inspire large-scale finance teams across multiple locations

Key requirements

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Extensive leadership across financial accounting, external reporting and financial control
  • Strong IFRS knowledge and experience with complex accounting judgments
  • Experience supporting Group consolidation, statutory reporting and external audits
  • Strong understanding of governance, risk management and internal control frameworks
  • Experience leading large, geographically dispersed finance teams
  • Proven experience delivering finance transformation, process improvement and organizational change
  • Experience operating in a listed, regulated or large complex corporate environment
  • Executive presence and credibility with senior stakeholders
