Transport planner

Overview

In this role you will support the delivery of an efficient, cost-conscious transport network. You will work within the operations team to plan routes, allocate vehicles and drivers, and maintain key performance indicators. You will liaise with stores and represent the customer service face of the function, ensuring clear communications and adherence to procedures. This is a hands-on planning role at DHL Supply Chain, offering daily impact on delivery performance and service quality.

Responsibilities

• Create routes and allocate vehicles and driver resources to meet planning deadlines
• Maintain KPIs and SLAs for transport activities
• Liaise with Stores on a regular basis
• Build relationships through customer service and maintain effective communications
• Serve as a customer contact point and ensure clear communications
• Ensure work instructions and standard operating procedures are followed and check lists adhered to

Key requirements

• Transport planning experience desired
• Transport experience in a supply chain or logistics environment is essential
• Excellent customer service skills
• Computer literacy including Excel
• Experience using Paragon (Desirable)
• Good critical thinking skills
• Able to communicate at all levels internally and externally
