Overview
As Station Management Accountant at Heysham 2, you will provide trusted financial insight to support performance and inform station leadership. You’ll work closely with finance and operations on-site, delivering monthly reporting, governance checks, and risk-based insights to optimise outcomes. This role blends regulatory accountability with business partnering to help EDF progress toward An Electric Britain. You’ll operate in a collaborative, high-stakes environment and shape financial governance and decision-making at the station.

Responsibilities
- Monitor budget performance and explain variances; ensure accuracy of monthly accounts
- Develop and circulate monthly financial reports to budget holders; track progress weekly/monthly
- Support quarterly audits with accrual substantiations, tax packs, and internal control assessments
- Complete monthly stock certificates and provide independent assurance on stock values
- Identify emerging risks and opportunities; propose mitigations to optimise outcomes
- Monitor project/portfolio performance with planning, forecasting, and variance commentary to support decisions
Key requirements
- Qualified management accountant with ICAEW/ICAS/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent
- Experience in a highly regulated environment
- Strong stakeholder management and business partnering skills
- Numerate with strong analytical capability; proficient in financial and IT tools
- Proven ability to build cross-functional relationships across multiple functions
