Overview
In this role, you monitor and diagnose fixed-line network faults within a busy Operations Centre. You will work across SDH, PDH, Ethernet and optical technologies to identify issues, perform initial diagnostics, and escalate where needed. You’ll partner with customers and vendors, uphold quality and SLA commitments, and contribute to a culture of collaboration. The position supports hybrid working and involves a 1 in 4 on-call rotation, helping keep networks reliable at scale.

Responsibilities
- Monitor customer networks to detect faults and acknowledge reports
- Perform initial fault diagnostics and work toward fault clearance
- Maintain accurate fault tickets with updates for visibility
- Escalate technical or managerial issues within defined SLAs
- Test and liaise with customers and third parties as required
- Provide input to management reports and support coverage for absences
- Support team members in day-to-day operations
- Maintain awareness of QA processes and working procedures
Key requirements
- Significant experience in telecommunications operating centre environments
- Knowledge across SDH, PDH and optical technologies (Ericsson, Nortel, Ciena)
- Proven track record in network management and fault troubleshooting
- Experience working with multiple third-party network providers and equipment vendors
- Ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences
- Minimum SC clearance or ability to meet SC criteria
