Property Damage Solicitor/Associate (NQ+)

Overview

In this role you will manage property damage claims for a respected defendant firm. You will work within the Property Damage Team in Manchester or Birmingham, contributing to higher-value cases as part of a collaborative practice. You will interpret client needs, assess risk, and ensure work aligns with SLAs and best practices. You will also mentor junior members and build relationships with internal and external partners to support the firm’s strategic goals. This is a growth-focused opportunity to shape outcomes in property-related claims while working with a high-performing team.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload of property damage related claims
• Contribute to higher-value cases as part of a collaborative team
• Interpret and respond to client needs, ensuring casework aligns with client SLAs and industry best practices
• Assess risk and justify decision-making to internal stakeholders and external clients
• Organise and prioritise tasks to improve productivity and workflows
• Cultivate strong relationships across internal teams and external partners to align with the Firm’s strategic goals and client expectations
• Serve as a mentor and primary point of contact for junior team members

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive
• Minimum 6 months experience handling own caseload of property insurance claims
• Robust technical proficiency and enthusiasm for commercial insurance
• Substantial experience is desirable but not essential for all candidates
