Responsibilities
- Oversee global technology programs and projects in support of IT initiatives
- Lead strategic planning for Conference Technology and translate goals into roadmaps
- Own staffing, capacity planning, and resource allocation
- Provide people leadership, coaching, and performance management
- Establish and improve execution standards across programs and conference operations
- Partner with leadership to assess team capabilities and future needs
- Lead conference execution planning and operational readiness for Gartner events
- Travel ~15% to support conferences and planning
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement using metrics and lessons learned
- Influence and manage expectations of clients, stakeholders, leadership, and external partners
- Direct multiple project plans and cross-functional workstreams into a cohesive strategy
- Lead project activities with PMs, engineers, and testing teams through full delivery phases
- Balance operational and delivery priorities across teams
- Resolve complex operational issues and identify systemic improvements
Key requirements
- 10+ years of program management experience in IT development or infrastructure
- Proven experience leading and developing teams with coaching and performance management
- Proven track record in process improvement and operational excellence
- Strong strategic planning with measurable outcomes
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies
- Demonstrated leadership with matrixed and executive stakeholders
- Strong program leadership including risk, stakeholder, release, conflict management
- Ability to manage client expectations and mitigate delivery risks
- Ability to establish governance and execution methodologies across teams
- Exceptional stakeholder and executive communication skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, JIRA, and Confluence
