Overview
As Software Engineering Manager for the M&S Platform, you will lead the team building the SRE function to accelerate development across 1000+ engineers and 30+ applications. You will steer technical vision, develop reusable pipelines and tooling, and contribute code to enhance developer experience. You’ll align with the platform strategy, empower product teams, and drive reliability and scalable practices. This role combines leadership with hands-on engineering to shape a high-impact, modern platform.

Responsibilities
- Be accountable for engineering excellence across your teams, from culture to production solutions and growth.
- Cultivate accountability through leadership and clear purpose.
- Align with the broader technical strategy and influence the Technology organisation.
- Act as platform owner with product thinking to enable digital products through data and customer-centricity.
- Collaborate with engineering leadership to maintain strategic alignment and scalable thinking.
- Line manage Staff and Senior Engineers; drive recruitment and retention.
- Own OKRs within your hub and support engineering communities for alignment.
- Serve as the technical partner for vendors and ensure reliability of external capabilities.

- Polyglot hands-on senior software engineer with extensive SRE experience
- Strong knowledge of SRE concepts and trade-offs
- Years of software engineering with diverse systems and technologies
- Proven track record leading teams of senior engineers delivering quality software
- Solid understanding of system design, cloud, and standard software engineering practices

- Strong testing strategies and reliability engineering knowledge
