Overview
In this role you will support and develop treasury applications for a City of London bank, focusing on MS SQL Server and the OpenLink Findur environment. You will work across global Treasury systems, ensure data integrity and security, and implement backup/recovery procedures. You’ll collaborate with vendor teams and internal stakeholders while building robust documentation and standards. This is a hands-on, cross-functional position with a chance to influence treasury tech strategy and learn adjacent systems like Panorama.

Responsibilities
- Support and develop Treasury applications and databases for London and global operations
- Manage MS SQL Server DBAs tasks including backups, recovery, and performance tuning
- Develop and enforce database development standards for creation, storage, and auditing
- Plan, implement and test recovery procedures and maintain recovery system integrity
- Maintain documentation for build, maintenance, and operational procedures
- Act as technical liaison between database operations and vendor support
- Respond to and document production and test support calls
- Possibly support OpenLink Findur Treasury Application and AVS scripting; train as needed
- Work on clustering, mirroring, log shipping, and replication configurations
- Collaborate with financial applications teams and support Sungard Panorama system where applicable
- Ensure security, change management, and administration of the Windows AD environment
Key requirements
- 2–5 years of MS SQL Server DBA experience (2005/2008)
- Java development and support experience
- MS SQL Server Administration (Enterprise Edition) experience
- T-SQL programming (stored procedures, functions, triggers)
- Experience with mirroring, log shipping, and SQL Server replication
- SSRS and SSAS maintenance and tuning
- Good understanding of a Windows (WINTEL) environment with AD
- Exposure to OpenLink Findur; AVS scripting knowledge beneficial but not mandatory
- Clustering and external storage administration concepts
- Ability to respond to production issues and maintain thorough documentation
