As a Principal Electrical Engineer at AECOM, you will own electrical design delivery for complex building services projects and lead engineering teams. Responsibilities

• Take overall technical responsibility for electrical engineering aspects of projects
• Lead development and delivery of electrical design solutions from concept to detailed design and completion
• Provide technical leadership to engineers and project team
• Review and approve electrical designs, calculations, specifications and documentation
• Ensure solutions are robust, compliant, and well coordinated for project requirements
• Oversee electrical drawings and BIM models with Revit review capabilities
• Perform and review lighting design and calculations using DIALux
• Perform and review cable sizing and related electrical calculations with ElectricalOM/Amtech
• Identify and resolve complex technical issues with practical solutions
• Coordinate electrical designs with other disciplines for multidisciplinary integration
• Liaise with clients, contractors, suppliers and stakeholders for technical advice
• Contribute to project planning, resourcing, programming and delivery
• Support preparation of technical proposals, fee estimates and project documentation
• Carry out technical reviews and quality assurance throughout design
• Mentor and develop less experienced engineers
• Contribute to engineering standards, processes and best practice improvement
• Support business development and identification of new project opportunities
• Support overseas travel and international assignments when required

Key requirements

• Extensive experience in Building Services Electrical Engineering at a Principal level
• Proven ability to take technical responsibility for electrical engineering projects
• Strong technical understanding of building services electrical design principles and industry standards
• Proven ability to lead and manage electrical engineering teams
• Strong communication skills to engage with clients and senior stakeholders
• Working knowledge of Revit to review and coordinate BIM models/drawings
• Proficient in DIALux for lighting design
• Proficient in ElectricalOM/Amtech for cable sizing
• Ability to review and challenge electrical calculations and designs by others
• Security clearance: sole British National with at least 10 years UK residency (or eligible for clearance); current SC or DV clearance desirable
