Overview

In this Lead Auditor role, you will head management-system certification audits (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001) following DNV methodologies to ensure impartial, high-quality certification outcomes. You will plan, execute, and report audits, manage client relationships, and maintain competence across schemes within a collaborative, cross-functional team. The position is home-based with UK-wide travel, preferably located in the South of England. You will contribute to a high-performing auditing culture and stay current with regulatory trends and scheme updates.

Responsibilities

  • Audit planning and on-site or remote certification audits per standards and DNV methodologies
  • Prepare detailed audit reports with non-conformities and improvement areas using an app-based tool
  • Maintain documentation and reflect audit activity and certification status in internal systems
  • Engage with customers and audit team members to clarify scope, expectations and outcomes
  • Support Key Customer Management and Sales with feedback and service improvement opportunities
  • Provide guidance on certification processes and regulatory trends within impartiality boundaries
  • Collaborate with Planning, Back Office, Technical and Sales for aligned delivery
  • Participate in Lead Auditor groups and sector-specific meetings, training and calibration events
  • Adhere to DNV Code of Conduct and promote quality, sustainability, and ethics
  • Stay informed on evolving customer expectations, food risks, and regulatory changes impacting audit scope
  • Identify opportunities to strengthen DNV’s portfolio and market position
  • Fulfil annual witness audits, calibration, and training requirements to retain qualifications
  • Maintain up-to-date qualifications across relevant schemes

Key requirements

  • 9001, 14001, 45001 IRQA Lead Auditor Training
  • Health and Safety – NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • Environmental – NEBOSH Environmental Management Certificate or equivalent
  • Willingness to travel across UK and be home-based
  • Security and compliance with statutory requirements in operating countries
