Overview
As Health, Safety & Fire Safety Manager you will lead the safety, compliance and risk management for multiple regional offices. You will partner with leaders and facilities teams to embed a proactive safety culture and maintain a robust management system. You’ll manage fire safety, audits, and regulatory compliance, ensuring safe, compliant workplaces. Responsibilities
- Maintain and continuously improve the Health & Safety Management System in line with legislation and best practice
- Provide practical safety guidance to leaders, managers and staff
- Develop and review policies, procedures, risk management frameworks
- Manage fire safety arrangements including Fire Risk Assessments, evacuations, drills, PEEPs, and wardens
- Coordinate with landlords, managing agents and regulators to ensure ongoing compliance
- Lead risk assessments, inspections, audits and incident investigations; track corrective actions
- Produce compliance reports, KPIs and leadership updates; monitor legislative changes
- Support statutory programs (fire systems, emergency lighting, electrical testing, water hygiene, asbestos, contractor compliance)
- Support contractor management, permit-to-work, and supplier compliance processes
- Provide safety expertise for moves, acquisitions, refurbishments and workplace changes
- Collaborate with Facilities teams to standardise safety and compliance across locations
- Manage DSE assessments, workplace adjustments, and equipment recommendations
- Deliver health and safety training and awareness campaigns
- Support business continuity and emergency planning; post-incident reviews and lessons learned
- Oversee SOPs and facilities governance; support projects and maintenance records
- Handle ad hoc facilities requests and operational activities
Key requirements
- Significant health and safety management experience in a multi-site corporate, professional services or legal environment
- Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation, fire safety requirements, risk management and audit processes
- Experience developing policies, procedures, compliance records and management reporting
- Experience working with landlords, managing agents, contractors, suppliers and regulatory bodies
- Strong stakeholder management, communication and influencing skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, for compliance data analysis and reporting
- Experience conducting internal audits and supporting continuous improvement initiatives
- Facilities management, workplace services or corporate real estate experience (advantageous)
