Audit Manager

Overview

As Audit Manager, you will lead audits from planning to completion, delivering high-quality service and technical excellence. You’ll manage a varied client portfolio across sectors and coach junior staff, strengthening client relationships as a trusted adviser. This role supports Partners in portfolio management and business development while contributing to the firm’s growth and talent development. The firm prioritises development and offers a clear path toward Responsible Individual status, with hybrid and flexible working. You’ll help shape the client experience and drive value for diverse owner-managed and corporate clients.

Responsibilities

• Managing and leading audit assignments from planning through to completion
• Overseeing a varied client portfolio across multiple sectors
• Reviewing junior staff work and providing coaching and development
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships
• Leading client meetings and acting as a trusted adviser
• Supporting Partners with portfolio management and business development
• Preparing and reviewing statutory accounts
• Assisting with corporate and personal tax compliance where required
• Identifying opportunities to enhance client service and add value
• Contributing to the development and growth of the wider team

Key requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• Currently working within a UK accountancy practice environment
• Operating at Audit Senior, Assistant Manager or Manager level
• Experience leading external audit assignments
• Confident in managing client relationships and supervising teams
• Technically strong with a solid understanding of UK accounting and auditing standards
• Ambitious and motivated by career progression
• Keen to take on greater responsibility and develop toward senior leadership positions
