Overview
In this role you will lead the technical function of a foundry, driving performance improvements in quality, yield and scrap reduction. You will mentor Process Engineers and lab/melting personnel, implementing process controls and root-cause analysis to meet customer requirements. The position offers ownership of continuous improvement initiatives in a hands-on, accountable environment within a well-established heavy engineering company. You will influence change and nurture a right-first-time culture across the technical team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the technical function across foundry operations (days-based)
- Drive scrap reduction and yield improvement through CI projects
- Oversee process control tools, calibration and testing protocols to meet customer requirements
- Lead and develop Process Engineers and lab/melting staff
- Coordinate scrap investigations and root cause analysis
- Ensure testing and process controls meet customer specifications
- Support new product introduction and continuous improvement initiatives
Key requirements
- Technical/production leadership experience within a foundry / casting / metallurgical manufacturing environment
- Strong continuous improvement and root cause analysis capability (quality, scrap and corrective actions)
- Comfortable leading and developing a team in a hands-on, high-accountability role
