Overview

In this role you will manage a portfolio of machined-parts suppliers within the UK, driving supplier performance and cost reduction. You will shape the Machined-Parts commodity strategy, lead RFQ and contract activities, and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure supplier maturity and on-time delivery. This position contributes to Safran’s leadership in sustainable aviation and requires collaborative, results-driven leadership. Responsibilities

  • Manage a dedicated panel of machinist suppliers primarily in the UK
  • Lead RFQ-to-contract management for assigned suppliers
  • Own supplier relationships and contract renewals through committees
  • Drive cost reduction plans and monitor KPIs in design KPI tool (SIEVO)
  • Improve supplier maturity and performance with cross-functional collaboration
  • Interface with Procurement, Production, Program, Quality, and Industrialization
  • Resolve daily supplier issues including claims and litigations
  • Contribute to setting up and formalizing the Machined-Parts strategy
  • Oversee supplier performance and coordinate with the Supplier Performance & Quality Lead
  • Travel as needed within Europe for project requirements

Key requirements

  • A relevant University Degree and/or APICS, CPIM or CIRM/PMAC Certification
  • Experience in manufacturing environment; aerospace experience preferred or mechanical industrial engineering
  • Significant purchasing experience
  • Experience leading projects within multi-functional teams
  • Contract negotiation skills and familiarity with contract language
  • Purchasing process leadership skills
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; understanding of accounting principles
  • Production control knowledge, MRP, and flow management
  • Ability to travel within Europe for projects
  • Good knowledge of MRP systems
