Overview
As a Quality Engineer at Trayport, you help deliver high-quality software that powers a robust user experience. You will shape the testing strategy, coach teammates, and work closely with product and development teams to build the right software with a shift-left mindset. You’ll explore, test, and automate to prevent defects and improve observability, while contributing to a culture of quality across the organisation. Responsibilities
- Define and execute team testing strategy and coach others on software quality
- Design test charters and conduct session-based exploratory testing to uncover unique bugs
- Collaborate with Product and Development to apply shift-left quality practices
- Enhance observability and apply shift-right testing
- Implement risk-based testing strategies to target quality efforts
- Grow the quality culture and engage in quality topics across the organisation
- Pair with teammates and contribute to delivery of high-quality, tested code
- Investigate root cause of bugs and perform code-level analysis as needed
- Participate in software architecture discussions and whiteboard sessions
- Assist in defining automated test scope and contribute to automation where suitable
- Act as a knowledge contact for product knowledge across business
- Attend knowledge sharing sessions with testers and developers
- Leverage AI tools like GitHub Copilot and Gemini to build internal testing tools and optimise workflows
Key requirements
- Strong background in software quality and exploratory testing
- Interest in technical topics and problem-solving ability
- Understanding of testing concepts, methodologies and processes
- Knowledge and experience with Docker
- Experience with C# / .NET environment
- Familiarity with .NET Aspire
- Practical knowledge of Azure DevOps for CI/CD workflows
- Exposure to AWS services and modern cloud backend architecture
- Willingness to participate in and often lead technical discussions
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to complex issues
- Collaborative with a wide group of stakeholders
- Experience contributing to user stories and acceptance criteria
