Overview
In this role you develop and deepen relationships with adviser firms within the workplace pensions market, promoting Scottish Widows as a trusted pension partner for employers. You’ll identify opportunities across adviser panels, support scheme design and member engagement, and work with cross-functional teams to enhance adviser and employer experiences. The role supports ambitious growth in workplace pensions and aims to improve outcomes for employers, advisers and members. You’ll join a collaborative, commercially focused team with opportunities to influence market positioning and propositions.

Responsibilities
- Build and strengthen relationships with corporate and wealth advisers in the workplace pensions market
- Identify and convert new workplace pension opportunities within your adviser panel
- Position Scottish Widows as a trusted partner to help advisers demonstrate value to employer clients
- Support adviser discussions on scheme review, design, salary exchange, implementation, member engagement and retirement outcomes
- Use data and market insights to identify opportunities and inform commercially focused recommendations
- Represent Scottish Widows at adviser meetings, seminars, and industry events
- Collaborate with Proposition, Operations, Implementation, Marketing and Service to improve adviser experience
- Maintain understanding of market developments, competitor propositions, adviser business models and regulatory expectations
- Share adviser and employer insights to shape proposition development and future market positioning
- Contribute to a collaborative team culture and continually seek better ways of working
- Develop technical knowledge across workplace pensions, investments, salary exchange, governance and the wider adviser market
Key requirements
- Experience in business development, relationship management, intermediary sales or adviser-facing roles within workplace pensions, corporate benefits, wealth, pensions or investments
- Strong understanding of the UK workplace pension market and adviser distribution
- Ability to build trust and influence with adviser firms and internal stakeholders
- Good technical knowledge of workplace pension propositions (auto-enrolment, default investment, salary exchange, transfers, ongoing servicing)
- Commercial awareness and ability to use data/insights to improve outcomes
- Strong communication and presentation skills tailored to advisers and employers
- High motivation, resilience, curiosity and ownership with proactive problem solving
- Ability to work independently across a regional panel while contributing to a national team
