Property Damage Solicitor / Associate

Overview

You will manage your own caseload of property damage claims within a national law firm’s Commercial Insurance team, while supporting senior colleagues on larger losses. You’ll handle a mix of first- and third-party property damage, policy coverage, product liability, and subrogated recovery matters, progressing matters from instruction to resolution. The role includes mentoring junior colleagues and contributing to the practice’s growth. You’ll work with national insurer and corporate clients on technically challenging disputes, in a collaborative, high-performance environment.

Responsibilities

• Manage own caseload of property damage claims
• Support senior colleagues on larger and more complex losses
• Handle first-party and third-party property damage disputes
• Advise on policy coverage matters
• Handle product liability claims and subrogated recovery actions
• Contribute to large loss and complex insurance litigation
• Progress matters from instruction to resolution

Key requirements

• Qualified solicitor or chartered legal executive
• Experience handling or assisting with property damage claims (preferred)
• Knowledge of third-party property damage, policy coverage, product liability or subrogated recovery (preferred)
• Previous wider insurance litigation experience for retraining (optional)
• Strong litigation and case management skills
• Excellent client handling and stakeholder management
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, commercial environment
• Proactive and collaborative team player
