Production Manager

Overview

In this Production Manager role, you will oversee day-to-day workshop operations and lead a 20-person team to meet production targets with high quality and safety. You’ll drive operational performance while supporting the implementation and optimisation of a new MRP system to streamline planning and visibility. The role sits at the heart of operations, collaborating with planning, engineering and senior management to improve workflow and efficiency. Responsibilities

• Manage daily production activities across the workshop
• Lead, motivate and develop a 20+ person team
• Deliver production schedules on time to meet customer expectations
• Support the implementation, integration and ongoing development of an MRP system
• Collaborate with planning, engineering and senior management to improve workflows
• Develop and maintain SOPs, risk assessments, and safe systems of work
• Monitor and report KPIs (quality, delivery, labour efficiency)
• Drive continuous improvement across production
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Key requirements

• Experience as a Production Manager or similar in manufacturing
• Strong fabrication and welding operations background
• Experience with MRP/ERP implementation or optimisation
• Ability to lead teams of 20+ staff
• Strong problem-solving, decision-making and communication skills
• Proactive in continuous improvement
• Solid health & safety understanding in production
