Responsibilities
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations of the team, including recruitment, supervision, appraisal, and disciplinary processes
- Deputise for other Clinical Team Leaders and the Clinical Service Manager as required
- Plan, deliver, and evaluate holistic, evidence‑based care in partnership with children, families, and multi‑agency teams
- Maintain advanced clinical competence in paediatric procedures and equipment management
- Contribute clinically to service delivery and continuous improvement
- Communicate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, families, and external partners
- Handle complaints and incidents, analysing causes and implementing action plans
- Lead on risk reduction, safeguarding, and quality assurance
- Provide specialist training and mentorship for staff caring for children with complex health needs
- Lead end‑of‑life care pathways and governance reviews (M&M and CDOP)
Key requirements
- RN Child / RSCN with Specialist Practitioner (Community Childrens Nursing) or equivalent
- Minimum 5 years’ paediatric clinical experience
- Proven leadership in staff management or project/change delivery
- Innovative, resourceful, flexible to meet needs of children and families
- Experience in service development and clinical governance
- Strong IT competence (systems and software)
- Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal skills
- Functional numeracy and literacy
